There are many factors that may be contributing to this. One thing to keep in mind is that you are sharing the connection with many others. (Did you know that the school owns over 400 computers and devices that are connected to our network?!)
Here are some things you can do to help keep things flowing smoothly:
- Avoid streaming music and videos (short, educational clips are OK).
- If your phone or other mobile device is connected to the Guest network, consider turning off your wifi or disconnecting from the network when you are not using it. Many apps sync at regular intervals, even if you are not actively using them.
- Be cautious when browsing the web to avoid malware. Please fill out a ticket if you suspect something may be running on your computer that should not be (ex. ads popping up, your homepage has unexpectedly changed, toolbars have appeared in your browser, you notice new software that you do not recognize).
